At this year’s Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Ram introduced the oh-so-subtle Macho Power Wagon concept. A throwback to the Macho Power Wagons of the late 1970s, the truck was painted in Macho Mango and given retro vertical Power Wagon graphics.
Built on the 2500 Power Wagon platform, the truck is powered by a 6.4-liter V8 with a cold-air intake. It sits on eight-spoke beadlock wheels clad in humongous 37-inch tires, which required custom fender flares and a four-inch suspension lift. The Macho Power Wagon also features custom bumpers with skid plates and tow hooks, an LED light bar, five-inch exhaust tips, single-piece running boards and a roof rack.
There’s one concept feature we’d love to see get put into regular production. There is a hoop in the back of the truck (hidden under a sport hoop) which slides along tracks in the bed. Together, the hoops form what is called a Ramrack; once the hoop is moved back in the bed, it cleverly works with the roof rack on the cab to create a long utility rack.
